Ángel Escamilla García's Dissertation Recognized by Latin American Studies Association

Ángel Escamilla García received the Latin American Studies Association's Best Dissertation Award for the Mexico Section. His dissertation is titled: "Knowledge, Place, and Experience in the Migrant Journey: How Central American Migrant Youth Negotiate Violence in Mexico."
Angel's article, “The Borderlandization of Mexico: Mexico’s New Policies of Deportation and Detention of Minor Migrants and their Effects on Migrant Movement,” also receieved an honorable mention from the Association for Best Article in Social Science.
