Gender and Family Workshop
Select Fridays, 12:30 to 1:45 PM
1812 Chicago Ave, Seminar Room
Coordinator: Julia Behrman
Student Coordinator: Amanda Buechele
The Gender and Family Workshop meets three times per quarter. The workshop is open to projects using any method, as long as they address research questions related to gender and family, broadly defined. Meetings are held in a small-group format focused on providing verbal and written feedback. Presenting students share a written draft of their paper on the Monday before the meeting, and attendees are expected to read the draft in advance and offer verbal feedback during the session. Drafts are extensive, with most sections of the paper already drafted. Presenters do not give a formal presentation. Instead, each session is structured as a feedback roundtable. Students who would like to present are strongly encouraged to attend all three meetings each quarter. One of the benefits of the workshop is the opportunity to see one another’s work develop and progress over time.
Spring Quarter Dates: April 3rd, May 1st, and May 29th.
