Recent Graduate Student Awards

Some great news from our graduate students as we wrap up the 2017-18 academic year. Please join us in celebrating their accomplishments:
- Anya Degenshein’s paper, “Strategies of Valuation: Repertoires of Worth at the Financial Margins" has been selected by the Sociology of Culture Section of the American Sociological Association as the winner of this year's Richard A. Peterson Award for the Best Student Paper.
- Jaimie Morse has received an Honorable Mention for the graduate student paper award from the American Sociological Association’s Sociology of Law Section. Jaimie’s paper is entitled “Legal Mobilization in Medicine: Nurses, Rape Kits, and the Emergence of Forensic Nursing in the United States since the 1970s.”
- Megan Bonham has received this year's award for Best Ph.D. Student Paper from the International Association for Society and Natural Resources. Her paper is entitled “Experiences with the Nighttime Environment: How Darkness Affects Human Relationships with Nature.”
- Tinu Adediran been named the Earl B. Dickerson Fellow at the University of Chicago Law School for the 2018-2019 academic year, renewable also for the 2019-2020 academic year.
