Christine Percheski in Demographic Research

April 19, 2024

Faculty member Christine Percheski published an article in Demographic Research with former NU postdoc Tony Silva (now an assistant professor at University of British Columbia). Their research examines age gaps between romantic partners in the US couple by gender composition and marital status following the nationwide legalization of same-sex marriage. They find that man-man couples have larger age gaps between partners than do woman-woman or man-woman couples, and that large age gaps are more tightly linked with partner differences in education, income, and race/ethnicity for man-man couples than for other couple types. You can find the article here.
